GENT 413 The End of Innocence (1870-1918)
The course investigates the forces of Nationalism that shaped Europe leading up to and including World War I. It also explains the meaning and importance of the age of “isms”: Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Symbolism, Expressionism, Cubism, Futurism, Marxism and Freudianism. It culminates with World War I and the Russian Revolution.
