Treasures of the Pharaohs–16 October 2026

The Gentrain Society is sponsoring a trip to the De Young Museum for the special exhibit “The Treasures of the Pharaohs.” The exhibit is described as exotic and scholarly with many treasures never before shown. Our own resident Egyptologist, Tom Logan, enthusiastically recommends it.

As you know, we have not been able to offer bus trips for some time because of the high cost. We are pleased that the Gentrain Society has prepared this trip–bus transportation to and from MPC and exhibit ticket– for $75 per person. The financial success or failure of this trip will determine whether we are able to offer such events in the future.

To secure your spot, please do the following:
Make a check for $75 payable to MPC/Gentrain

Heather Crowley joined MPC’s History Department in 2025, where she teaches a variety of classes on American and European history. She holds a Ph.D. in History from Cardiff University (UK) and an M.A. in History in Art from the University of Victoria (Canada), where she also completed her undergraduate studies. Her research focuses on the twelfth- and thirteenth-century Eastern Mediterranean, examining the crusader states and nearby Muslim polities. She is excited to join Gentrain as its director in 2026 and looks forward to the future of the program.
