Divorced, Beheaded, Died…The Mysterious Case of Anne Boleyn
Anne Boleyn remains one of the most notorious queens in English history, but relatively little is known about the details of her life, why Henry VIII became so obsessed with her, and the precise circumstances of her sudden trial and execution. This lecture will shed some light on these questions as well as revealing Anne’s crucial role in bringing Reformation ideas to England, her complicated relationship with Thomas Cromwell, and the suspected reasons for her death.
Nancy Johnson has taught Short Courses in the Gentrain Program and led numerous MPC Travel Study courses. She currently enjoys taking an annual continuing education course at Christ Church, Oxford.
