A Man for All Seasons
Join the Gentrain Society for a special screening of A Man for All Seasons. The movie is based on a play by Robert Bolt depicting the final years of Sir Thomas More, the 16th-century Lord Chancellor of England who refused to cooperate with Henry VIII’s plan to establish himself as head of the Church of England. The movie won multiple Academy and other awards when it was released in 1966.
Dr. Stephanie Spoto will give a lecture about the historical figure of Sir Thomas More just before the movie.
Both the lecture and the movie will take place at the Lighthouse Theater in Pacific Grove beginning at noon on 30 April. The movie will be shown with closed captioning.
